Before you hand in your assignment...

Your assignment is due Friday June 5th.

Make sure you hand it in as a report.

Write an introduction and conclusion - they are worth 5 marks each.

Including images will also give you marks.

Reference your work by citing where you found out your information and sourced your images.

Part Four: Critical Analysis

Select any one of the artworks that exhibited as a finalist in the 2009 Archibald Prize and complete a Critical Analysis. You will be given guiding questions to help you. These will be posted later. I strongly suggest that you select your image as soon as possible and print out a good quality copy.

What is the People's Choice Prize?
What is the purpose of the People's Choice Award?

You are to investigate the Archibald Prize. An investigation requires research, reading and fact finding. This investigation will also require you to give your opinion.

There are four parts as well as an introduction and a conclusion to this investigation. The report should follow the following format:

Part Three: Debate and Controversy (10 marks)
Part Four: Critical Analysis (10 marks)
Conclusion (5 marks)

The Archibald Prize

The Archibald Prize is Australia's main portrait competition. The winning painting is the best portrait painting of a man or woman distinguished in Art, Letters, Science or Politics.
